The Tucherpark sits between the Eisbach and the Englischer Garten, and it is the reason to pick this venue over anything else on a warm evening: five doubles courts and two singles courts on grounds that most Munich venues would swap their roof for. It is the same operator as Frankfurter Ring, and the two sites are explicitly a pair — the venue's own advice is Tucherpark in the sun and Frankfurter Ring in Munich's less generous weather.

Two things to plan around. Everything here is outdoors and unroofed, so November is a gamble rather than a booking. And the venue's German and English pages disagree about the opening time — 07:00 on one, 10:00 on the other — which for an early session is worth one message to the venue rather than an assumption.

Getting there

Lehel and the north end of the Altstadtring, walkable from the Englischer Garten and a short ride from Odeonsplatz or Münchner Freiheit. There is no reason to drive here, and after the match the Eisbach and the beer gardens are the point.

Running a session here

PadelCity München Tucherpark has 5 courts, and a 60-minute booking is the slot to plan around. That fixes almost everything else about the evening.

  • Bring 20 to 26 players. 20 is everyone on court every round; past that you are running a sit-out queue, which is fine but somebody has to track it.
  • Expect about 6 rounds once you take out warm-up and changeovers — play each to 21 points so every court finishes together and the scores stay comparable.
  • At 26 players, 6 people sit out each round. 5 courts tops out at 26 players before the sit-out queue is longer than the court time.
  • The 2 singles courts are left out of those numbers — they seat two, so they take no round of a four-player rotation. Useful for a warm-up, or for whoever is sitting one out.

Formats that fit

  • Americano a full rotation at 20 players is 19 rounds and the booking holds 6, so you play a slice of it. Fine for an evening, but the standings are a snapshot rather than a complete table.
  • Mexicano re-pairs by the standings each round, so the games stay close. 6 rounds is enough for the table to mean something.
  • King of the Court needs about 10 rounds to climb 5 courts, and the booking gives 6.

If you book fewer courts

Five doubles courts is twenty players on court, with the two singles courts taking the overflow at €28 — a cheap way to keep four people from standing around. Prices are per hour rather than per 90 minutes, so the hour is the planning unit: six rounds to 21 points, or five to 24.

Twenty players and six rounds is not an Americano — a full rotation would want nineteen rounds — so this is a Mexicano evening, or two hours if you want the table to settle. Doubles are €36 before 16:00 against €42 after, and with five courts that difference is real money.
