The Alte Paketposthalle is the vast former parcel-post hall behind Munich's Hauptbahnhof, and while the city argues about what it eventually becomes, the Pineapple Park is what is happening in the meantime: a temporary culture and sport site, of which nine padel courts are one part. Five are indoors and four are outside, which is the split that matters here — you can book this venue in January and in July and get a different but playable evening either way.

Seventeen hours a day, 365 days a year, is the other reason to know it. Bookings run from 07:00 to midnight, and a separate entrance keeps the courts reachable at the ends of the day when the rest of the site is shut. Casa Padel runs six sites across Bavaria and Tirol, including a second Munich hall in Johanneskirchen, so a booking that falls through here has a sibling to fall back on rather than a dead end.

Getting there

Arnulfstraße runs west out of the Hauptbahnhof, and Donnersbergerbrücke is the S-Bahn stop everyone uses — this is the one large Munich venue that a group scattered across the city can reach without a car. The hall is a landmark, so nobody gets lost on the last hundred metres.

Running a session here

Casa Padel Pineapple Park has 9 courts, and a 60-minute booking is the slot to plan around. That fixes almost everything else about the evening.

  • Bring 36 to 48 players. 36 is everyone on court every round; past that you are running a sit-out queue, which is fine but somebody has to track it.
  • Expect about 6 rounds once you take out warm-up and changeovers — play each to 21 points so every court finishes together and the scores stay comparable.
  • At 48 players, 12 people sit out each round. 9 courts tops out at 48 players before the sit-out queue is longer than the court time.

Formats that fit

  • Americano a full rotation at 36 players is 35 rounds and the booking holds 6, so you play a slice of it. Fine for an evening, but the standings are a snapshot rather than a complete table.
  • Mexicano re-pairs by the standings each round, so the games stay close. 6 rounds is enough for the table to mean something.
  • King of the Court needs about 18 rounds to climb 9 courts, and the booking gives 6.

If you book fewer courts

Nine courts is thirty-six players on court at once and a comfortable ceiling around forty-eight, which in Munich makes this and Lucky Star the only two options for a company event that doesn't have to split into two evenings. Prices move with the time of day in the app, so a Saturday morning and a Wednesday at 19:00 are different bills for the same nine courts — check before you divide by thirty-six.

The indoor and outdoor courts are one booking system but not one experience. If you are running a single rotation across all nine in October, expect the outdoor four to feel colder and slower, and seed them deliberately rather than letting the draw decide who spends the evening outside.
