The land between Moosacher Straße, Lerchenauer Straße and Am Oberwiesenfeld becomes the Das Anders quarter — 500 flats, offices, two nurseries — from 2027. Until then it is Lucky Star: scaffolding architecture, blue carpet, food trucks, a beer garden, a bouncy-castle landscape, and ten full-panorama padel courts. Around them sit pickleball, beach volleyball, badminton, boule and frisbee, and in winter an ice rink.

Ten courts is more than any other padel site in Munich, and the temporary framing is why: nobody builds a ten-court hall on land they lose in two years. It also sets expectations correctly. This is a social playground with padel in it, not a venue — the courts are all outdoors, the day runs 10:00 to 22:00, and the reviews are the most mixed of any Munich venue, which for a site this new is worth reading before you bring twenty people.

Getting there

U-Bahn Oberwiesenfeld puts you at the gate, and the Olympiapark is the next stop — the easiest large-group arrival in the city. Booking runs through Playtomic; the site itself is operated by X3 Padel, so support questions go to them rather than to the quarter's developers.

Running a session here

Lucky Star Padel @ Das Anders has 10 courts, and a 90-minute booking is the slot to plan around. That fixes almost everything else about the evening.

  • Bring 40 to 53 players. 40 is everyone on court every round; past that you are running a sit-out queue, which is fine but somebody has to track it.
  • Expect about 6 rounds once you take out warm-up and changeovers — play each to 32 points so every court finishes together and the scores stay comparable.
  • At 53 players, 13 people sit out each round. 10 courts tops out at 53 players before the sit-out queue is longer than the court time.

Formats that fit

  • Americano a full rotation at 40 players is 39 rounds and the booking holds 6, so you play a slice of it. Fine for an evening, but the standings are a snapshot rather than a complete table.
  • Mexicano re-pairs by the standings each round, so the games stay close. 6 rounds is enough for the table to mean something.
  • King of the Court needs about 20 rounds to climb 10 courts, and the booking gives 6.

If you book fewer courts

Ten courts seats forty players in a single round and tops out around fifty-three, which is a company tournament rather than an evening with friends. At that size no Americano rotation finishes — forty players want thirty-nine rounds and a 90-minute booking holds six — so this is Mexicano ground: one points target, set before the first round, identical on all ten courts, or the standings say nothing across them.

Everything is outdoors and the season is being borrowed. Have a wet-weather answer for a group of forty before you collect anyone's share, and if your session is a recurring one, know that the whole site has an end date.

Common questions

How many padel courts does Lucky Star have?
Ten, all outdoors and full-panorama — the largest padel site in Munich.
How long will Lucky Star be there?
It is a temporary use of the plot that becomes the Das Anders quarter from 2027; the project was announced as a roughly two-year run.
What else is on the site?
Pickleball, beach volleyball, badminton, boule and frisbee, a beer garden with food trucks, and an ice rink in winter — which is what makes it work for a group where not everyone plays.
