Island Sports Club's Berawa site opened in October 2023 as the flagship of a group that now runs padel in Uluwatu, Cemagi and Gili T as well. Four roofed panoramic courts — Courts 1 to 3 plus a premium centre court — sit on a site that also holds Bali's largest indoor golf facility, a full gym with a class timetable, a recovery centre with sauna, ice bath and jacuzzi, a rooftop pool, a restaurant and a bar.

The courts look across uninterrupted rice fields, which the venue leans on hard in its marketing and which is, for once, worth the sentence: the decks between the courts are where a group waiting for the next round actually wants to stand.

Pricing is per court and tiered by court rather than by hour of the day. Courts 1 to 3 are Rp600.000 for sixty minutes, Rp780.000 for ninety and Rp1.040.000 for a hundred and twenty; the centre court is Rp680.000, Rp880.000 and Rp1.120.000. Rackets are Rp60.000 and balls are sold on site. Booking runs through the Island Sports app, and the same account works at the Uluwatu venue on the Bukit — useful if your group is split across the island.

Getting there

Berawa, in the middle of Canggu's hospitality strip, with free parking on site. One caveat on the address: the venue's listings variously give Gg. Manggis and Jl. Karang Suwung in Tibubeneng, so follow the map pin from the venue's own site rather than typing a street name.

Running a session here

Island Sports Club Berawa has 4 courts, and a 90-minute booking is the slot to plan around. That fixes almost everything else about the evening.

  • Bring 16 to 21 players. 16 is everyone on court every round; past that you are running a sit-out queue, which is fine but somebody has to track it.
  • Expect about 6 rounds once you take out warm-up and changeovers — play each to 32 points so every court finishes together and the scores stay comparable.
  • At 21 players, 5 people sit out each round. 4 courts tops out at 21 players before the sit-out queue is longer than the court time.

Formats that fit

  • Americano a full rotation at 16 players is 15 rounds and the booking holds 6, so you play a slice of it. Fine for an evening, but the standings are a snapshot rather than a complete table.
  • Mexicano re-pairs by the standings each round, so the games stay close. 6 rounds is enough for the table to mean something.
  • King of the Court needs about 8 rounds to climb 4 courts, and the booking gives 6.

If you book fewer courts

Four courts is sixteen on court and a ceiling of twenty-one, five of them resting each round at the top. For a group of sixteen this is the whole venue and nothing spare.

At sixteen an Americano needs fifteen rounds; ninety minutes gives six at 32 points, thirteen at 16. Two hours gives eighteen at 16 points and the rotation completes — and here the two-hour rate is proportionally the better deal anyway, at Rp1.040.000 against Rp780.000.

The centre court is Rp100.000 more for ninety minutes. Across four courts a two-hour session is Rp3.120.000 for Courts 1–3 plus the centre court's Rp1.120.000 — worth working out before you announce a per-head number, because the four courts are not the same price.

The gym, golf and pool are the reason to make this a longer booking than the rotation needs. A group that finishes at 20:00 and has a rooftop pool to go to stays; a group standing in a car park does not.
