Island Padel Uluwatu is the Bukit-side branch of Island Sports Club and one of the first padel venues to open on the southern peninsula, which for anyone staying near Bingin, Padang Padang or Uluwatu itself means not driving north to play. Four covered panoramic courts, fans on each one for the middle of the day, a locker room, an outdoor cafe with a patio and a pro shop.
The price structure is the part that matters most to an organiser, because it is not one number. Visitors pay Rp600.000 for sixty minutes and Rp780.000 for ninety; residents pay Rp400.000 and Rp600.000 for the same courts. That is a third off, and on a four-court booking it is the difference between Rp3.120.000 and Rp2.400.000 for a ninety-minute session.
The Island Sports app account works across both this venue and the Berawa flagship, so a group whose members are scattered between Canggu and the Bukit only installs one thing. Rackets are Rp60.000 and ODEA or OXDOG balls are sold on site at Rp120.000 to Rp150.000 a tube.
Getting there
Jl. Labuansait in Pecatu, on the southern Bukit near the surf beaches. Everything down here is a drive and the roads are narrower than the north — if your group is coming from Canggu, this is an hour or more each way, and the Berawa venue is the same operator.
Running a session here
Island Padel Uluwatu has 4 courts, and a 90-minute booking is the slot to plan around. That fixes almost everything else about the evening.
- Bring 16 to 21 players. 16 is everyone on court every round; past that you are running a sit-out queue, which is fine but somebody has to track it.
- Expect about 6 rounds once you take out warm-up and changeovers — play each to 32 points so every court finishes together and the scores stay comparable.
- At 21 players, 5 people sit out each round. 4 courts tops out at 21 players before the sit-out queue is longer than the court time.
Formats that fit
- Americano a full rotation at 16 players is 15 rounds and the booking holds 6, so you play a slice of it. Fine for an evening, but the standings are a snapshot rather than a complete table.
- Mexicano re-pairs by the standings each round, so the games stay close. 6 rounds is enough for the table to mean something.
- King of the Court needs about 8 rounds to climb 4 courts, and the booking gives 6.
| Courts | Everyone plays | Up to |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | 4 | 5 |
| 2 | 8 | 10 |
| 3 | 12 | 16 |
| 4 | 16 | 21 |
Four courts is sixteen on court and a ceiling of twenty-one. At sixteen a full Americano needs fifteen rounds, and ninety minutes gives six at 32 points or thirteen at 16 — so either drop to a Mexicano or book two hours, where eighteen rounds at 16 points finishes the rotation.
Settle the resident question before you collect money. Mixed groups here are the norm — a few people on a KITAS, a few on holiday — and the venue charges the court, not the person, so whoever books determines the rate everyone splits.
The fans matter for a midday booking. On the Bukit between eleven and three an uncovered court is unplayable for most people, and this is one of the few venues down here where a lunchtime slot is a real option rather than a theoretical one.
For eight people, two courts at 21 points gives ten rounds in ninety minutes against the seven an eight-player Americano needs — the one size here where the full rotation finishes comfortably.
