Jungle Padel came to Surabaya from Bali, which is the short version of a longer story: the group's original venue in Pererenan has a claim to being Indonesia's first, and this is the same operation in Citraland, directly behind Universitas Ciputra. It ran a trial through late February 2025, soft-opened, and had its grand opening on 12 April — and it has been the busiest padel venue in West Surabaya more or less since.
Five full-panoramic courts sit under a roof, on synthetic carpet laid over tarmac, which gives the natural bounce that reviewers keep mentioning. Four are standard; the fifth has an automatic recording system, so a match plays back afterwards without anyone holding a phone. The ceiling is high enough that a smash has somewhere to go, and there is an ice bath for after.
The venue is also the one running the community here — tournaments, events, prizes — which for an organiser is worth more than any single facility: it means there are people in this city who already know how a rotation works. Booking goes through Ayo Indonesia or the Jungle Padel app, with the cheapest listed slot at Rp100.000 and normal-hour rates around Rp350.000. Rackets are Rp50.000 and a tube of three balls Rp110.000.

Running a session here
Jungle Padel Surabaya has 5 courts, and a 60-minute booking is the slot to plan around. That fixes almost everything else about the evening.
- Bring 20 to 26 players. 20 is everyone on court every round; past that you are running a sit-out queue, which is fine but somebody has to track it.
- Expect about 6 rounds once you take out warm-up and changeovers — play each to 21 points so every court finishes together and the scores stay comparable.
- At 26 players, 6 people sit out each round. 5 courts tops out at 26 players before the sit-out queue is longer than the court time.
Formats that fit
- Americano a full rotation at 20 players is 19 rounds and the booking holds 6, so you play a slice of it. Fine for an evening, but the standings are a snapshot rather than a complete table.
- Mexicano re-pairs by the standings each round, so the games stay close. 6 rounds is enough for the table to mean something.
- King of the Court needs about 10 rounds to climb 5 courts, and the booking gives 6.
| Courts | Everyone plays | Up to |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | 4 | 5 |
| 2 | 8 | 10 |
| 3 | 12 | 16 |
| 4 | 16 | 21 |
| 5 | 20 | 26 |
Five courts is twenty players on court and a ceiling of twenty-six, six resting each round at the top. Twenty is a large social session and this venue is one of only three in the city that seats it.
An hour will not finish an Americano at twenty players: the rotation needs nineteen rounds and fifty playable minutes gives eight at 16 points. Two hours gives eighteen, still one short — so at this size the format is Mexicano, and that is not a compromise but the right call.
Book the recording court for the last round rather than the first. A group that gets the deciding game back as a video has something to send to the group chat, and a warm-up on film is nobody's highlight.
For twelve people, three courts and ninety minutes gives thirteen rounds at 16 points against the eleven an Americano needs — the sweet spot here if you want a rotation with a real winner.
This is the venue whose players already know the formats. If your group is new to a Mexicano, the local community events are an easier first outing than organising one cold.
