Social Padel House opened on 18 September 2025 as the first padel venue from Ismaya Group, the hospitality company behind a long list of Jakarta's best-known restaurants and bars. It shows, in the good way: the courts are surrounded by somewhere you would actually want to sit, Djournal Coffee is at the court gate, and the venue holds a 4.9 Google rating across well over a thousand reviews.

The courts themselves are the specification to note. All five are built by Padel Galis, a Spanish manufacturer — one panoramic M360 court and four Mundial courts, confirmed by the maker when the venue opened. They sit under a permanent canopy with open sides, so play carries on through a Jakarta downpour without the courts becoming a sealed oven. Floodlights mean the venue runs to midnight.

Coaching is led by Roger Saladie Bastons, certified in Spain with close to six thousand coaching hours behind him and a Grand Slam competitor with the Catalan Federation — a stronger CV than most of this city can offer. Booking is through ISMAYA+ or Courtside.

Two honest caveats from the reviews, both worth knowing before you bring fifteen people. Parking is limited, and regulars park in the nearby office buildings. And there is no mushola on site, which several reviewers raise specifically because people spend hours at a padel venue and every other venue in the city has one.

Getting there

Jl. K.H. Wahid Hasyim No.148-150 in Kampung Bali, Tanah Abang — a few minutes from Jl. M.H. Thamrin, with the Sudirman corridor, Gondangdia and Menteng proper all close. Central, and therefore the parking problem: tell your group to plan for the office buildings nearby rather than the venue's own spaces.

Running a session here

Social Padel House Menteng has 5 courts, and a 60-minute booking is the slot to plan around. That fixes almost everything else about the evening.

  • Bring 20 to 26 players. 20 is everyone on court every round; past that you are running a sit-out queue, which is fine but somebody has to track it.
  • Expect about 6 rounds once you take out warm-up and changeovers — play each to 21 points so every court finishes together and the scores stay comparable.
  • At 26 players, 6 people sit out each round. 5 courts tops out at 26 players before the sit-out queue is longer than the court time.

Formats that fit

  • Americano a full rotation at 20 players is 19 rounds and the booking holds 6, so you play a slice of it. Fine for an evening, but the standings are a snapshot rather than a complete table.
  • Mexicano re-pairs by the standings each round, so the games stay close. 6 rounds is enough for the table to mean something.
  • King of the Court needs about 10 rounds to climb 5 courts, and the booking gives 6.

If you book fewer courts

Five courts is twenty players on court and a ceiling of twenty-six, with six resting each round at the top.

At twenty an Americano needs nineteen rounds; an hour gives eight at 16 points and two hours eighteen — still one short. Twenty players here is a Mexicano, and that is the right call rather than a compromise.

Put the last round on the M360. A panoramic court with a coffee shop looking into it is where a final belongs, and the four Mundial courts are where the rounds before it happen.

Warn the group about parking before they leave, not when they arrive. Five courts is up to twenty-six people converging on a Central Jakarta address with limited spaces — this is the venue to arrive at by Grab.

There is no prayer room on site. On a two-hour session that spans a prayer time, that is a real logistical fact for part of your group, and it is the one thing reviewers consistently ask the venue to fix.
