Racquet Padel Club was Jakarta's first, and eighteen months of new openings later it is still the one that feels least like a product. Three roofed doubles courts sit in Cilandak alongside a swimming pool, a kids' playground, a clubhouse with proper changing rooms, a café, an equipment shop and a large outdoor area the venue rents for events. It is pet-friendly and the parking is free.
It also has the only singles court in Jakarta. That is a genuine curiosity — padel is overwhelmingly a doubles game and almost nobody builds for two — and it changes the arithmetic for a group, because a singles court seats two rather than four. Four courts on the sign is twelve rotation seats, not sixteen. The venue's sister site in BSD has four doubles courts and a singles court of its own.
Prices are the other thing that sets it apart. In a city where the rooftop venues charge Rp500.000 an hour, Racquet's cheapest sessions start at Rp75.000 and off-peak rates run around Rp200.000 to Rp250.000. Booking is through Resasports, the venue's own site or WhatsApp — not one of the big Indonesian apps — and the courts are open six in the morning to ten at night.
Getting there
Jl. M.P.R. III Dalam No.4 in Cilandak Barat, off the main roads in a residential pocket of South Jakarta. It is the sort of address where the map pin matters, and where the pool and playground make more sense than they would on a commercial strip: a lot of people here arrive with their family rather than instead of them.
Running a session here
Racquet Padel Club has 3 courts, and a 60-minute booking is the slot to plan around. That fixes almost everything else about the evening.
- Bring 12 to 16 players. 12 is everyone on court every round; past that you are running a sit-out queue, which is fine but somebody has to track it.
- Expect about 6 rounds once you take out warm-up and changeovers — play each to 21 points so every court finishes together and the scores stay comparable.
- At 16 players, 4 people sit out each round. 3 courts tops out at 16 players before the sit-out queue is longer than the court time.
- The singles court is left out of those numbers — it seats two, so it takes no round of a four-player rotation. Useful for a warm-up, or for whoever is sitting one out.
Formats that fit
- Americano a full rotation at 12 players is 11 rounds and the booking holds 6, so you play a slice of it. Fine for an evening, but the standings are a snapshot rather than a complete table.
- Mexicano re-pairs by the standings each round, so the games stay close. 6 rounds is enough for the table to mean something.
- King of the Court winners move up a court, losers move down. Works from 6 rounds on 3 courts.
| Courts | Everyone plays | Up to |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | 4 | 5 |
| 2 | 8 | 10 |
| 3 | 12 | 16 |
Three doubles courts is twelve players on court and a ceiling of sixteen, with four resting each round at the top. Do not count the singles court towards a rotation — it seats two, and a group planning for sixteen on four courts will be two seats short.
At twelve players an Americano needs eleven rounds, and an hour gives eight at 16 points. Book ninety minutes and thirteen rounds completes the rotation. This is the size and the booking to aim for here.
King of the Court fits inside the hour: six rounds needed on three courts against the six an hour gives at 21 points. Exactly six, so start when you said you would.
For a group that has to bring children, this is the venue — pool, playground, and a café that faces both. Nowhere else on this list solves that problem.
The singles court is a real answer to an odd number. A group of thirteen or fourteen is a nuisance everywhere else; here two of them play a singles game while the other twelve rotate, and it is not a consolation prize.
