House of Padel is on the twenty-sixth floor of Agora Mall, inside the Thamrin Nine complex that connects the Autograph Tower and the Luminary Tower — Indonesia's two tallest buildings. The courts are seventy metres above the ground, which makes them the highest in Jakarta and, when they opened, the first rooftop padel in the city.
There are four semi-outdoor courts on green synthetic grass, under a roof high enough that air still moves through — which matters more than the view, because a sealed box at that height in Jakarta would be unplayable by ten in the morning. What you get instead is the skyline on all sides and a breeze, and a lift that goes directly to the floor so nobody walks through a shopping centre in kit.
It is also the most expensive padel in Jakarta at Rp500.000 an hour, and the venue spends that money where you notice: free towels, shower rooms stocked with proper products, secure lockers, five experienced coaches, and Roof on Nine — a rooftop restaurant and bar — a few metres from the court gate. Rackets rent from Rp50.000 a person and balls from Rp125.000. Booking is only through the venue's own app, on iOS and Android.
Getting there
Thamrin Nine on Jl. M.H. Thamrin, connected to the MRT, LRT, TransJakarta and KRL — which makes this the one venue in Jakarta a group can reach without any of them driving. Take the direct lift to the twenty-sixth floor. Parking is Agora Mall's if you need it.
Running a session here
House of Padel has 4 courts, and a 60-minute booking is the slot to plan around. That fixes almost everything else about the evening.
- Bring 16 to 21 players. 16 is everyone on court every round; past that you are running a sit-out queue, which is fine but somebody has to track it.
- Expect about 6 rounds once you take out warm-up and changeovers — play each to 21 points so every court finishes together and the scores stay comparable.
- At 21 players, 5 people sit out each round. 4 courts tops out at 21 players before the sit-out queue is longer than the court time.
Formats that fit
- Americano a full rotation at 16 players is 15 rounds and the booking holds 6, so you play a slice of it. Fine for an evening, but the standings are a snapshot rather than a complete table.
- Mexicano re-pairs by the standings each round, so the games stay close. 6 rounds is enough for the table to mean something.
- King of the Court needs about 8 rounds to climb 4 courts, and the booking gives 6.
| Courts | Everyone plays | Up to |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | 4 | 5 |
| 2 | 8 | 10 |
| 3 | 12 | 16 |
| 4 | 16 | 21 |
Four courts is sixteen players on court and a ceiling of twenty-one, with five resting each round at the top. Sixteen is the number to bring — everybody plays every round.
At sixteen an Americano needs fifteen rounds and an hour gives eight at 16 points. Two hours gives eighteen and completes the rotation; at Rp500.000 a court that is a real decision, so make it deliberately rather than discovering it at round eight.
This is the venue to pick when the session is the occasion — a birthday, a team offsite, somebody's last week in the city. The skyline and the restaurant on the same floor are doing work no court specification can.
It is also the one venue here that a whole group can reach by train. If half your players do not drive, this solves a problem that Kemang and Cilandak cannot.
Book earlier than feels necessary. Occupancy across Jakarta runs 87 to 99 per cent, and this is a four-court venue at the single most convenient address in the city.
