CORE AND COURT: three covered courts, a pilates studio, and an entrance through the groceries

Three courts under a roof with open sides on Metro Pondok Indah, sharing a building with a pilates studio — from an operator that helped write the Indonesia Padel Report, and with the strangest entrance in Jakarta padel.

CORE AND COURT sits on Jl. Metro Pondok Indah with three courts under a permanent roof and open sides. That combination is the right one for Jakarta and worth understanding: covered means rain does not end your session and the afternoon sun is off the court, while open sides mean air actually moves. It is not air-conditioned and does not claim to be — this is not the same product as Air Padel or the Airdome, and it is considerably cheaper.

The operator is unusually serious about the sport as a business — it co-authored the Indonesia Padel Report 2025 jointly with Growell, the same supermarket brand you walk through to reach the courts — and that shows in a facility built around more than court hire. There is a reformer pilates studio on site, which for a group with a mixed set of fitness interests makes the venue work on a day when only half of you want to play.

Three practical warnings. The entrance is through a Growell supermarket, which is genuinely confusing on a first visit and worth telling your group about, because people circle the block looking for a sports entrance that is not there. On-site parking is genuinely small — the recommendation is valet or the lot across the street — and for a session of twelve arriving in six cars that is the binding constraint. And the venue publishes no house rules at all: nothing on cancellation, refunds, footwear, outside coaches or outside food. Ask on WhatsApp before you commit a group.

Booking is Courtside only for padel; the pilates studio uses a separate Rezerv system. As with the other Courtside venues on this list, a group used to Ayo needs a second app — and the venue publishes no standard court rate, so the price only appears in the app at booking time.

Getting there

Jl. Metro Pondok Indah No.17 in Pondok Pinang. The way in is through the Growell supermarket at street level rather than a separate sports entrance — send your group that instruction, not just the address. Parking is limited, so coordinate cars.

Running a session here

CORE AND COURT has 3 courts, and a 60-minute booking is the slot to plan around. That fixes almost everything else about the evening.

  • Bring 12 to 16 players. 12 is everyone on court every round; past that you are running a sit-out queue, which is fine but somebody has to track it.
  • Expect about 6 rounds once you take out warm-up and changeovers — play each to 21 points so every court finishes together and the scores stay comparable.
  • At 16 players, 4 people sit out each round. 3 courts tops out at 16 players before the sit-out queue is longer than the court time.

Formats that fit

  • Americano a full rotation at 12 players is 11 rounds and the booking holds 6, so you play a slice of it. Fine for an evening, but the standings are a snapshot rather than a complete table.
  • Mexicano re-pairs by the standings each round, so the games stay close. 6 rounds is enough for the table to mean something.
  • King of the Court winners move up a court, losers move down. Works from 6 rounds on 3 courts.

If you book fewer courts

Three courts is twelve players on court and a ceiling of sixteen, with four resting each round at the top.

At twelve an Americano needs eleven rounds and an hour gives eight at 16 points. Ninety minutes gives thirteen and completes the rotation.

Roofed with open sides is the format that best survives a Jakarta afternoon without an air-conditioning premium. If your group balked at Rp660.000 an hour for a cooled room, this is the compromise.

Tell people the entrance is through the supermarket. It sounds trivial and it is the single most common reason someone is ten minutes late here.

Parking is the constraint, not the courts. Twelve people in six cars will not all fit — nominate a meeting point or agree to share.

The pilates studio makes this a venue for a group that is not uniformly keen on padel. Four can play while two do something else, which is not true at a courts-only venue.

Common questions

Are the courts indoor or outdoor?
Roofed with open sides: covered against rain and sun but not enclosed, so air moves through. It is not air-conditioned, which is also why it costs less than Jakarta's cooled indoor venues.
Where is the entrance?
Through the Growell supermarket at street level on Jl. Metro Pondok Indah — there is no separate sports entrance, which catches most first-time visitors. Parking on site is limited.
How do you book, and what does it cost?
Padel through Courtside; pilates through Rezerv. The venue publishes no standard court rate — only per-player community prices are public, and those include the organiser's margin. Check the live figure in Courtside before quoting a group.
