Bumi Padel Kemang: three courts named rather than numbered, and the only free trial in the city
Three panoramic courts on a terracotta concept — Harsa, Kiran and Gaia — that sell 60, 90 and 120-minute slots at a flat hourly rate, welcome other venues' coaches, and give a community two free hours to find out whether padel is for them.

Bumi Padel is the most open venue on this list, and that is a description of policy rather than a compliment about the atmosphere. Outside coaches are not banned here — they are actively hosted, with other communities running their own paid classes on these courts. Where Republic Simprug and AIR Padel prohibit an outside coach outright and Courtyard charges Rp100.000 for one, Bumi publishes no restriction at all.
It also does something nobody else does: a free morning trial. Two hours of free court time for a community, or one hour for an individual, for first-timers. If you have been trying to get a group of twelve to try padel and the Rp450.000-an-hour question keeps stalling it, that is the answer.
The three courts are panoramic on a terracotta concept, and they are named rather than numbered — Harsa, Kiran and Gaia — which is charming and a genuine hazard when you are telling eleven other people which court to walk to. The venue sells 60, 90 and 120-minute slots at Rp450.000, Rp675.000 and Rp900.000, a flat hourly rate prorated, which makes it one of very few Jakarta venues where you can simply buy the length of session you actually want.
There is a strong women's scene here — several of Jakarta's women's padel communities run their regular sessions on these courts — so a mixed or women's session has an existing crowd to plug into rather than build from nothing.
Getting there
Cilandak Timur, Pasar Minggu, opposite Jl. Madrasah 2 — the venue's own address literally describes itself as across the road from it. Marketed as Kemang, which is nearby rather than the same neighbourhood. A warning worth heeding: some community listings geocode this venue to a different Jl. Madrasah in North Jakarta, most of the width of the city away. Check the pin before sending anyone.
Running a session here
Bumi Padel Kemang has 3 courts, and a 90-minute booking is the slot to plan around. That fixes almost everything else about the evening.
- Bring 12 to 16 players. 12 is everyone on court every round; past that you are running a sit-out queue, which is fine but somebody has to track it.
- Expect about 6 rounds once you take out warm-up and changeovers — play each to 32 points so every court finishes together and the scores stay comparable.
- At 16 players, 4 people sit out each round. 3 courts tops out at 16 players before the sit-out queue is longer than the court time.
Formats that fit
- Americano a full rotation at 12 players is 11 rounds and the booking holds 6, so you play a slice of it. Fine for an evening, but the standings are a snapshot rather than a complete table.
- Mexicano re-pairs by the standings each round, so the games stay close. 6 rounds is enough for the table to mean something.
- King of the Court winners move up a court, losers move down. Works from 6 rounds on 3 courts.
| Courts | Everyone plays | Up to |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | 4 | 5 |
| 2 | 8 | 10 |
| 3 | 12 | 16 |
Three courts is twelve players on court and a ceiling of sixteen, with four resting each round at the top. Twelve is the group this venue is sized for.
The 90-minute slot is the one to buy, and it is the reason to come here. Eighty playable minutes gives thirteen rounds at 16 points against the eleven a twelve-player Americano needs — a complete rotation with a real winner, for Rp2.025.000 across three courts, or about Rp169.000 a head.
The 120-minute slot exists too, which almost nowhere else on this list sells. Eighteen rounds at 16 points is an Americano for sixteen people, if you can get four courts elsewhere — or a very long twelve-player session here.
Bring your own coach if you have one. This is the venue that will let you, and for a group of beginners a coached first hour followed by a rotation is a better session than either alone.
Take the free trial seriously as an organising tool. Two free hours for a community is how you convert the six people in your group chat who keep saying they will come next time.
Use the court names, not numbers, when you tell people where to go. Harsa, Kiran and Gaia mean nothing to someone who has never been.
Common questions
- How long are the slots at Bumi Padel Kemang?
- Sixty, ninety or a hundred and twenty minutes, priced at Rp450.000, Rp675.000 and Rp900.000 — a flat Rp450.000 an hour prorated. Very few Jakarta venues publish a choice of slot lengths.
- Can we bring our own coach?
- Yes. Bumi publishes no ban on outside coaches and other communities regularly run their own paid classes on these courts, which is unusual in Jakarta.
- Is there really a free trial?
- A free morning trial session for first-timers: two hours of court time for a community, or one hour for an individual. Nothing else on this list offers a free block to a group.
