Three outdoor courts, built by Padel Galis, inside the Treudelberg Resort in the green far north of Hamburg. The courts are the reason you book and the resort is the reason you stay: a hotel, an 18-hole golf course, a spa and gym available for a fee, a restaurant, a café, and a terrace overlooking the Alstertal that the venue describes as probably the most beautiful in Hamburg. On that one point, it has a case.

It is also the most structured teaching programme in this city's padel. Courses are split by age — Kids and Teens from 7 to 15, adults, and Golden Age from 55 — which is unusual, and it makes this the obvious venue for a family or a mixed-generation group rather than eight colleagues.

Getting there

Lemsahl-Mellingstedt, at the northern edge of the city and a short hop from Norderstedt; free parking on site, and this is a drive for almost everybody. Aspria and Padelon Hummelsbüttel are a few kilometres south if the three courts are gone.

Running a session here

Treudelberg Hamburg by MeetPadel has 3 courts, and a 90-minute booking is the slot to plan around. That fixes almost everything else about the evening.

  • Bring 12 to 16 players. 12 is everyone on court every round; past that you are running a sit-out queue, which is fine but somebody has to track it.
  • Expect about 6 rounds once you take out warm-up and changeovers — play each to 32 points so every court finishes together and the scores stay comparable.
  • At 16 players, 4 people sit out each round. 3 courts tops out at 16 players before the sit-out queue is longer than the court time.

Formats that fit

  • Americano a full rotation at 12 players is 11 rounds and the booking holds 6, so you play a slice of it. Fine for an evening, but the standings are a snapshot rather than a complete table.
  • Mexicano re-pairs by the standings each round, so the games stay close. 6 rounds is enough for the table to mean something.
  • King of the Court winners move up a court, losers move down. Works from 6 rounds on 3 courts.

If you book fewer courts

Three courts is twelve players on court and a ceiling of sixteen. A full Americano rotation at twelve is eleven rounds, and a 90-minute booking gives thirteen at 16 points — so the rotation finishes, and this is one of the small venues where the evening ends with a real table rather than a snapshot.

The resort is the reason to bring a group that isn't all players. Twelve on court, four on the terrace, golf and the spa available for a fee, and a playground — for a weekend session with families, this venue solves the problem that every other one on this list leaves to you.
