The Svenska Sportcenter on the Eichberg sat empty for more than twenty years before Padelon renovated it. What came out is six indoor courts — four doubles, two singles — with lounge areas, a bar inside the hall and a padel pro shop, on the edge of the Höltigbaum nature reserve. It is the quietest setting of any Hamburg padel venue, which is not a small thing for a hall in a city of two million.
The detail worth planning around is that this venue is open twenty-four hours. Not "late": all of them. The published price grid has a bracket for 23:00 to 06:00 where a doubles court is €24 instead of €44, so a 01:00 session is a listed product rather than an exception. The phone, by contrast, is answered on venue hours — evenings on weekdays, daytimes at weekends.
Getting there
The eastern edge of Hamburg, past Rahlstedt, right at the nature reserve. This is a drive from most of the city, and the operator's other site in Hummelsbüttel is the northern alternative under the same prices and the same app.
Running a session here
Padelon Hamburg Rahlstedt has 4 courts, and a 60-minute booking is the slot to plan around. That fixes almost everything else about the evening.
- Bring 16 to 21 players. 16 is everyone on court every round; past that you are running a sit-out queue, which is fine but somebody has to track it.
- Expect about 6 rounds once you take out warm-up and changeovers — play each to 21 points so every court finishes together and the scores stay comparable.
- At 21 players, 5 people sit out each round. 4 courts tops out at 21 players before the sit-out queue is longer than the court time.
- The 2 singles courts are left out of those numbers — they seat two, so they take no round of a four-player rotation. Useful for a warm-up, or for whoever is sitting one out.
Formats that fit
- Americano a full rotation at 16 players is 15 rounds and the booking holds 6, so you play a slice of it. Fine for an evening, but the standings are a snapshot rather than a complete table.
- Mexicano re-pairs by the standings each round, so the games stay close. 6 rounds is enough for the table to mean something.
- King of the Court needs about 8 rounds to climb 4 courts, and the booking gives 6.
| Courts | Everyone plays | Up to |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | 4 | 5 |
| 2 | 8 | 10 |
| 3 | 12 | 16 |
| 4 | 16 | 21 |
Four doubles courts is sixteen players on court and a ceiling of twenty-one. Sixteen players need fifteen rounds for a full Americano; an hour gives six at 21 points and eight at 16, so the rotation wants a two-hour booking — which at the €24 night rate costs less than one peak hour.
Being open all night is genuinely useful for a shift-working group or a session that has to start after something else, and it is the reason to pick this venue over anything else in the city. Everything else about it is a good six-court hall.
