Twelve indoor courts on Wandsbeker Zollstraße, and the interesting part is the address rather than the number: five on the first floor with the three singles courts, four more on the fifth. Nobody puts padel courts on a fifth floor for fun — it is what you do when the site is a city-centre building and the alternative is a hall on the ring road. The first-floor group includes a center court.
This is mitte's larger Hamburg venue, and everything the brand does applies: designed rooms, automated booking and check-in, community leaders rather than staff at a desk, and a second Hamburg site in Altona for when this one is full. It is also on EGYM Wellpass, which for a group where some people play weekly and others twice a year changes what an evening costs whom.
Getting there
Wandsbek Markt is the U1 stop and the Zollstraße runs off it, so this is one of the few large padel venues in Germany you reach on a metro rather than a regional train. For a group coming from four different corners of Hamburg, that is the whole argument.
Running a session here
mitte The Cabrio Wandsbek has 9 courts, and a 90-minute booking is the slot to plan around. That fixes almost everything else about the evening.
- Bring 36 to 48 players. 36 is everyone on court every round; past that you are running a sit-out queue, which is fine but somebody has to track it.
- Expect about 6 rounds once you take out warm-up and changeovers — play each to 32 points so every court finishes together and the scores stay comparable.
- At 48 players, 12 people sit out each round. 9 courts tops out at 48 players before the sit-out queue is longer than the court time.
- The 3 singles courts are left out of those numbers — they seat two, so they take no round of a four-player rotation. Useful for a warm-up, or for whoever is sitting one out.
Formats that fit
- Americano a full rotation at 36 players is 35 rounds and the booking holds 6, so you play a slice of it. Fine for an evening, but the standings are a snapshot rather than a complete table.
- Mexicano re-pairs by the standings each round, so the games stay close. 6 rounds is enough for the table to mean something.
- King of the Court needs about 18 rounds to climb 9 courts, and the booking gives 6.

Nine doubles courts is thirty-six players in a single round and a ceiling around forty-eight — a company tournament rather than an evening out. At that size the Americano is out (thirty-six players want thirty-five rounds against the six a 90-minute booking holds), so this is Mexicano: one target, set before the first round, identical on every court.
The two floors are the thing to plan around, and no other venue in Hamburg has this problem. A rotation spread over the first and fifth floors means players moving between them every round, which costs more than the round does. Book one floor per group, or use the fifth for the sit-out rotation and keep the standings on the first — and put the final on the center court.
Common questions
- How many courts does mitte The Cabrio have?
- Twelve indoor courts: nine doubles including a center court, and three singles. Five doubles and all three singles are on the first floor, four more doubles on the fifth.
- Are the courts really on two floors?
- Yes — the booking grid labels them first floor and fifth floor. If you are running one rotation for a large group, keep it on one level.
- Is there a second mitte venue in Hamburg?
- Yes, dolce vita in Altona, with six courts — the west-side option when Wandsbek is full.
