TG Nord put padel courts in Düsseldorf before anybody else did, in 2020, and it has stayed a venue rather than becoming a business: around 290 padel members, nineteen teams across the Bundesliga, 2. Bundesliga, Regionalliga and Oberliga in 2026, and a season that runs spring through autumn because all three courts are outdoors. One of the three is a panoramic WPT-spec court, which is a serious piece of kit for a members' venue.
It is also the most sociable of the Düsseldorf venues, in a way that is on the record: the Friday sessions the venue calls Punk Fridays, a lounge with a small pool, twelve clay tennis courts around the padel and a clubhouse that is actually catered. The venue says plainly that it is not a commercial site and that everything depends on members organising it — which is a fair warning and, if you are the person organising, an invitation.
Getting there
Lohausen, in the north by the nature reserve and close to the airport. The grounds carry twelve clay tennis courts and an indoor tennis hall alongside the padel, so the site is much bigger than three courts suggests.
Running a session here
TG Nord Düsseldorf has 3 courts, and a 90-minute booking is the slot to plan around. That fixes almost everything else about the evening.
- Bring 12 to 16 players. 12 is everyone on court every round; past that you are running a sit-out queue, which is fine but somebody has to track it.
- Expect about 6 rounds once you take out warm-up and changeovers — play each to 32 points so every court finishes together and the scores stay comparable.
- At 16 players, 4 people sit out each round. 3 courts tops out at 16 players before the sit-out queue is longer than the court time.
Formats that fit
- Americano a full rotation at 12 players is 11 rounds and the booking holds 6, so you play a slice of it. Fine for an evening, but the standings are a snapshot rather than a complete table.
- Mexicano re-pairs by the standings each round, so the games stay close. 6 rounds is enough for the table to mean something.
- King of the Court winners move up a court, losers move down. Works from 6 rounds on 3 courts.
| Courts | Everyone plays | Up to |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | 4 | 5 |
| 2 | 8 | 10 |
| 3 | 12 | 16 |
Three courts is twelve players on court with a ceiling of sixteen, and twelve is the size that finishes here: a full Americano is eleven rounds, and the venue's 90-minute slots give thirteen at 16 points. Set the target at 16 and the table completes.
The guest cap is the constraint to design around, and it is unusual enough to be worth checking before you invite anybody: in prime time a booking may include at most two guests. A twelve-person social session therefore needs members, not just a member with a login — count the members in your group before you count the players.
Everything else follows from being a venue: guests are prepaid by PayPal, cancellation only works up to 24 hours ahead, a bad weather forecast is not a refund, and a guest who doesn't show is not refunded at all. Collect the money before the day, not after.
Padel membership has a waiting list. If your group plays here regularly as guests, that email is the thing to send early rather than the thing to discover in May.
