Ten indoor courts, and the split is what makes them interesting: six for doubles and four for singles. Four singles courts is a lot — most ten-court halls put everything into doubles and leave the people waiting with nothing to do — and here they are a quarter of the building. This is one of 4PADEL's largest German sites, and it was called We Are Padel before the rebrand, which is still the name on plenty of maps and in plenty of group chats.
The pricing is the other thing to know, because it is not how German padel usually works: €13.50 per player for ninety minutes, rather than a court rate you then divide. For an organiser collecting money that removes the arithmetic entirely — everyone owes the same number, and it is printed on the booking. Memberships start at €79 a month, and selected courts record your match, which is either useful or unwelcome depending on the group.
Getting there
Am Gatherhof is in Unterrath in the north, near the airport and the Messe — good by car, and the venue runs a WhatsApp community for anyone arriving without a fourth player.
Running a session here
4Padel Düsseldorf has 6 courts, and a 90-minute booking is the slot to plan around. That fixes almost everything else about the evening.
- Bring 24 to 32 players. 24 is everyone on court every round; past that you are running a sit-out queue, which is fine but somebody has to track it.
- Expect about 6 rounds once you take out warm-up and changeovers — play each to 32 points so every court finishes together and the scores stay comparable.
- At 32 players, 8 people sit out each round. 6 courts tops out at 32 players before the sit-out queue is longer than the court time.
- The 4 singles courts are left out of those numbers — they seat two, so they take no round of a four-player rotation. Useful for a warm-up, or for whoever is sitting one out.
Formats that fit
- Americano a full rotation at 24 players is 23 rounds and the booking holds 6, so you play a slice of it. Fine for an evening, but the standings are a snapshot rather than a complete table.
- Mexicano re-pairs by the standings each round, so the games stay close. 6 rounds is enough for the table to mean something.
- King of the Court needs about 12 rounds to climb 6 courts, and the booking gives 6.
| Courts | Everyone plays | Up to |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | 4 | 5 |
| 2 | 8 | 10 |
| 3 | 12 | 16 |
| 4 | 16 | 21 |
| 5 | 20 | 26 |
| 6 | 24 | 32 |
Six doubles courts is twenty-four players on court. A full Americano rotation at twenty-four is twenty-three rounds and a 90-minute booking gives six at 32 points or thirteen at 16, so this is a Mexicano — one points target, agreed once, the same on all six courts.
The per-player price is the reason to run something big here. Because the venue charges the seat rather than the court, adding a fifth court to your booking has a predictable cost per head, and a session that grows by four people on the day doesn't blow up the split.
Four singles courts absorb the overflow properly. At the ceiling of thirty-one players, seven sit out of each doubles round; two singles courts turn four of those seven back into players.
