Fourteen metres of clear height is the specification PadelBros leads with, and for anyone who has played under a nine-metre roof and watched a lob hit a beam, it is the right thing to lead with. Six doubles courts and two singles courts in a hall in Borsigwalde, at €32 an hour for a doubles court, which is at the sensible end of Berlin pricing.

The venue is explicit that the hall is unheated — that is a January consideration, not an objection, and it is stated on every listing rather than discovered on arrival. What it runs around the courts is the other half of the offer: open matches for people without a fixed four, coaching from beginner to advanced, a kids' summer camp, and a replay camera on the first court.

Getting there

Ten minutes on foot from S25 Eichborndamm or twelve from U6 Otisstraße, in the north of the city. This is the venue to know if your group is anywhere near Tegel or Reinickendorf.

Running a session here

PadelBros has 6 courts, and a 60-minute booking is the slot to plan around. That fixes almost everything else about the evening.

  • Bring 24 to 32 players. 24 is everyone on court every round; past that you are running a sit-out queue, which is fine but somebody has to track it.
  • Expect about 6 rounds once you take out warm-up and changeovers — play each to 21 points so every court finishes together and the scores stay comparable.
  • At 32 players, 8 people sit out each round. 6 courts tops out at 32 players before the sit-out queue is longer than the court time.
  • The 2 singles courts are left out of those numbers — they seat two, so they take no round of a four-player rotation. Useful for a warm-up, or for whoever is sitting one out.

Formats that fit

  • Americano a full rotation at 24 players is 23 rounds and the booking holds 6, so you play a slice of it. Fine for an evening, but the standings are a snapshot rather than a complete table.
  • Mexicano re-pairs by the standings each round, so the games stay close. 6 rounds is enough for the table to mean something.
  • King of the Court needs about 12 rounds to climb 6 courts, and the booking gives 6.

If you book fewer courts

Six doubles courts is twenty-four players on court and a comfortable ceiling of thirty-two — the second-largest indoor group in Berlin after Padel Factory. At twenty-four players a full Americano is twenty-three rounds, which no booking holds, so the format is Mexicano with a fixed target. The two singles courts are worth adding for whoever is resting: sixteen euros is a cheap way to keep eight people from standing around.
