Padel FC put indoor padel in Berlin first, in a hall on the Köpenicker Chaussee with a twelve-metre ceiling and unplastered concrete walls that the venue has sensibly left alone. Nine courts in total: five indoor doubles, two indoor singles, and two outdoor courts directly on the Spree, which are the ones to ask for in June.

The venue is also the one with a famous name attached — Jürgen Klopp is an investor, which got the hall more press at opening than any padel venue in the city has had since. What it means in practice is a serious build quality and a venue that runs leagues and open matches rather than only selling court hours.

Getting there

Ostkreuz and Rummelsburg are both a walk away, on the S-Bahn from anywhere in the city; the Köpenicker Chaussee is also easy by bike along the river. There is free parking at the venue, which is unusual this close to the ring.

Running a session here

Padel FC has 7 courts, and a 90-minute booking is the slot to plan around. That fixes almost everything else about the evening.

  • Bring 28 to 37 players. 28 is everyone on court every round; past that you are running a sit-out queue, which is fine but somebody has to track it.
  • Expect about 6 rounds once you take out warm-up and changeovers — play each to 32 points so every court finishes together and the scores stay comparable.
  • At 37 players, 9 people sit out each round. 7 courts tops out at 37 players before the sit-out queue is longer than the court time.
  • The 2 singles courts are left out of those numbers — they seat two, so they take no round of a four-player rotation. Useful for a warm-up, or for whoever is sitting one out.

Formats that fit

  • Americano a full rotation at 28 players is 27 rounds and the booking holds 6, so you play a slice of it. Fine for an evening, but the standings are a snapshot rather than a complete table.
  • Mexicano re-pairs by the standings each round, so the games stay close. 6 rounds is enough for the table to mean something.
  • King of the Court needs about 14 rounds to climb 7 courts, and the booking gives 6.

If you book fewer courts

Seven doubles courts — five inside, two on the river — is twenty-eight players on court, and the split is the useful part: an evening for twenty-eight can run the whole group indoors, or put two courts' worth outside in summer and keep the rest under the roof. In a 90-minute booking at 32 points you get six rounds, so a Mexicano is the format; a full Americano at twenty-eight players is twenty-seven rounds and is not happening.

Common questions

How many courts does Padel FC have?
Nine: seven indoors (five doubles and two singles) and two outdoor courts beside the Spree.
Is Padel FC the same as Padelhaus?
The booking platform lists the venue under Padelhaus GmbH, the company behind it. The venue itself trades as Padel FC.
Can you play here all year?
Yes. Seven of the nine courts are inside a heated hall, and the two river-side courts are the summer bonus rather than the plan.
