Three MejorSet courts — the same court brand the Premier Padel League uses — on a monofilament artificial turf surface, with unobstructed ceilings the venue's own rate card and FAQ put at forty feet, inside a purpose-built fifty thousand square foot building from its recent tennis center expansion. One page on its site says up to forty-two feet; two sources including the rate card say forty, so forty is the number with the caveat noted.
This is the one venue in the city where the words "climate controlled for year-round play" are the venue's own rather than a write-up's drift. Everywhere else in this metro the claim is "indoor" or "year-round", which describes a roof and an intention. Here the building is described as conditioned and the venue says it directly. In a city where four of eleven padel venues are open-air or partly so, that is the single most useful differentiator on this page for anyone booking between November and March.
It is also the only venue here with a downloadable rate sheet, and reading its footnote carefully matters. Court time runs $31.50 off-peak and $40.50 peak for members, $35 and $45 for everyone else, and the footnote says: "Rates shown are based on 4 players per court. The charge per person is equal to the hourly court fee divided by the actual number of players on the booking." The natural reading is that those figures are per person at four players, which puts the court at $140 off-peak and $180 peak — and the alternative reading, that $35 buys the whole court, would price a peak indoor Manhattan court at $11.25 a head, which no market supports. This page reads it as per person and says so rather than picking silently. Confirm when you book.
Non-members can book, and the venue states it more plainly than anyone else in this file: "You do not need to be a SPORTIME member to reserve court-time", and it extends that to lessons, open play sessions and drop-in programs and events. Existing members of any type get access without an upgrade, though court fees are not included in any membership. Advance booking runs from fourteen days for padel members down to four for non-members, cancellation inside forty-eight hours forfeits the fee entirely, and court time books in thirty-minute increments on a sixty-minute minimum. The shoe policy is explicit and enforced: court shoes only, no running or casual shoes.
The program list is deep and named — court time, open play, social events, group and private lessons, adult clinics, Coach Play-In Clinics where a coach joins the court to steer the level of play, a junior academy for ages twelve and up at a tennis UTR of 3.0 or higher, a junior summer series, tournaments and event planning. There is a game-arranging service, with or without a play-in coach, which is unusual and directly useful if your group is short. Rating runs on World Padel Rating, by self-assessment in the app or an on-court assessment.
Getting there
Randall's Island, reachable by car with free on-site parking and substantial free park overflow parking, and also by bike, by the footbridge from Manhattan, or on the MTA M35 bus. Worth saying explicitly because it is an island and people assume it is unreachable: it isn't, and the parking is the easiest of any padel venue in the city.
Running a session here
SPORTIME Padel at Randall's Island has 3 courts, and a 60-minute booking is the slot to plan around. That fixes almost everything else about the evening.
- Bring 12 to 16 players. 12 is everyone on court every round; past that you are running a sit-out queue, which is fine but somebody has to track it.
- Expect about 6 rounds once you take out warm-up and changeovers — play each to 21 points so every court finishes together and the scores stay comparable.
- At 16 players, 4 people sit out each round. 3 courts tops out at 16 players before the sit-out queue is longer than the court time.
Formats that fit
- Americano a full rotation at 12 players is 11 rounds and the booking holds 6, so you play a slice of it. Fine for an evening, but the standings are a snapshot rather than a complete table.
- Mexicano re-pairs by the standings each round, so the games stay close. 6 rounds is enough for the table to mean something.
- King of the Court winners move up a court, losers move down. Works from 6 rounds on 3 courts.
| Courts | Everyone plays | Up to |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | 4 | 5 |
| 2 | 8 | 10 |
| 3 | 12 | 16 |
Three courts is twelve players with everyone on court and sixteen before the sit-out queue starts to be the session. Twelve is the number this venue is built for.
An hour is six rounds to 21 points. A full Americano at twelve players is eleven rounds, so an hour gets you a bit over half of one — book ninety minutes for nine rounds to 32, or run a Mexicano and let one target stand over six.
Do the price arithmetic on the per-person reading before you invite anyone, and confirm it: twelve players across three courts at peak is around $540 on that reading, or $45 a head. If the venue tells you the figure is per court instead, the same session is $135 in total and you should book immediately.
Booking windows favour members heavily — fourteen days for padel members against four for non-members — so a popular Saturday slot is realistically a members' slot. Plan a weekday or plan early.
The game-arranging service is the feature to use if your group is short of four, and the Coach Play-In Clinic is the one to use if it is mixed in level. Both are things a group usually has to solve for itself.
Tell everyone about the shoe policy in the invitation. Court shoes only, explicitly stated, and running shoes turned away at a venue on an island is a wasted trip rather than an inconvenience.

- $31.50 off-peak and $40.50 peak for members, $35 and $45 for others. The rate card's footnote says these are based on four players per court, which reads as per person — making the court roughly $140 off-peak and $180 peak. Confirm with the venue when booking.
