THE SET Padel & Pickleball: twelve courts, and no roof over any of them

Twelve panoramic courts under pro-level lights in Doral — a venue that reads like a private members' lounge and is, on its own booking system's word, entirely outdoors.

Twelve courts, named Padel 1 through Padel 12, and every single one tagged by the venue's own booking system as outdoor, double and panoramic. That is the finding most worth carrying, because the marketing invites the opposite conclusion: its own site describes a space that "feels like a private members' lounge—complete with cold-plunge recovery, functional gym, locker suites, juice bar, and a relaxed Wi-Fi lounge", and never once uses the words indoor, covered, roofed or air-conditioned. Twelve outdoor courts, lit, with no cooling claimed — any write-up calling this a premium indoor venue is wrong.

The prose is the best in Doral: "WE DON'T JUST PLAY, WE SET THE TONE", "MORE THAN COURTS — IT'S A HAUS FOR GAMECHANGERS", and "MEMBERSHIPS ARE LIMITED BECAUSE COMMUNITY MATTERS". The German "Haus" is a deliberate brand device rather than a typo, and the name is genuinely unstable across its own channels — The Set Padel Haus on its site and Instagram, THE SET Padel & Pickleball on its booking system.

Membership is where this venue needs reading twice, because it publishes two ladders that do not agree and both are its own. Its website sells Family at $559 a month and Individual at $459, with clinics, court reservations and cold-plunge access. Its booking system sells a Limited Membership at $149 — unlimited play until 5pm, two free clinics, five monthly visits to the CoreMotif gym, seven-day booking against a non-member's three — and an Unlimited Play tier at $79 covering padel on weekday mornings and weekend afternoons. The likeliest reading is that the website ladder is the full-access product and the booking system's is the off-peak one actually on sale, but the venue reconciles nothing, so a page quoting only one would mislead half its readers.

What is unambiguous is the competition, and it is the best reason for a group to come: THE WEEKLY OPEN runs "$1,500 in weekly prizes across three days of high-intensity matches", with twenty advanced pairs playing for a $1,500 pot and an intermediate bracket for $800 — and, crucially, "No membership required — just bring your A-game." Clinics are $40 for sixty minutes capped at four, with Marta Morga Alonso, Jorge Ringo Pereyra and a coach named Eduardo who has his own ten-pack at $1,000. Note that the gym is CoreMotif, a named partner, not in-house, and that the food service launched after the courts did.

Getting there

NW 108th Avenue with free parking. Worth knowing that the venue's own copy positions it for Sweetwater and West Miami while the address is Doral — it sits at the boundary of all three, so search by street rather than by neighborhood.

Running a session here

THE SET Padel & Pickleball has 12 courts, and a 90-minute booking is the slot to plan around. That fixes almost everything else about the evening.

  • Bring 48 to 64 players. 48 is everyone on court every round; past that you are running a sit-out queue, which is fine but somebody has to track it.
  • Expect about 6 rounds once you take out warm-up and changeovers — play each to 32 points so every court finishes together and the scores stay comparable.
  • At 64 players, 16 people sit out each round. 12 courts tops out at 64 players before the sit-out queue is longer than the court time.

Formats that fit

  • Americano a full rotation at 48 players is 47 rounds and the booking holds 6, so you play a slice of it. Fine for an evening, but the standings are a snapshot rather than a complete table.
  • Mexicano re-pairs by the standings each round, so the games stay close. 6 rounds is enough for the table to mean something.
  • King of the Court needs about 24 rounds to climb 12 courts, and the booking gives 6.

If you book fewer courts

Twelve courts is forty-eight players on court together and sixty-four before the sit-out queue is the session — tied with Reserve SoLé Mia for the largest capacity in the city. Read the court ladder below instead: three courts for twelve, four for sixteen.

Every court is outdoors and lit with no cooling claimed. The lights are the answer to Miami summer here — this is an evening venue between June and September, and it stays open to 11:30pm.

At forty-eight players an Americano is arithmetically impossible in one booking. Mexicano, or split the group into independent sessions across separate courts, which twelve courts makes easy.

The Weekly Open is open to non-members and pays out $1,500 and $800. If your group has an advanced pair in it, that is a better use of a night here than a social rotation.

Compare both membership ladders before joining, and ask which applies. A $79 tier and a $459 tier are on sale simultaneously from the same venue, on different channels, with different access windows.

Common questions

Are the courts indoors?
No. All twelve are tagged outdoor, double and panoramic by the venue's own booking system, and its website never uses the words indoor, covered or air-conditioned. They are lit for evening play.
Why are there two different membership prices?
The venue publishes two ladders on two of its own channels: $459 and $559 tiers on its website, and $79 and $149 tiers on its booking system with off-peak access windows. It reconciles neither, so ask which applies before joining.
Can non-members enter the tournaments?
Yes. Its Weekly Open states "No membership required" and pays $1,500 across twenty advanced pairs plus $800 in an intermediate bracket, over three days.
Is the gym on site?
The gym is CoreMotif, a named partner, and the $149 membership grants five visits a month rather than unlimited in-house access. The cold-plunge and stretch deck are on site.
