AREA CENTRE: work, play, and a Saturday that ends at one

Two indoor courts sharing a 1973 warehouse with desks, meeting rooms and a gym — and one of only four Miami venues that says in its own words that it cools its courts.

Two padel courts, named Padel 1 and Padel 2 by the venue's own booking system, inside a warehouse suite with a coworking floor attached. The pitch is that combination rather than the padel alone: "We're a Coworking & Padel Club for makers & creators who seek to work, play, and connect in one place", under the tagline WORK-PLAY-CONNECT. The second court is recent — the operator posted in June 2025 that "Our second Padel court is now complete (brand new)".

The detail worth the page is the cooling, because in Miami it is the difference between a venue and a venue you can use in August. The operator's own June 2025 post says it has "finished installing brand-new AC units across our sports and wellness spaces" — an active-cooling claim in the venue's own words, which only three other padel venues in this city make. What is not the venue's own is the panoramic glass or the thirty-foot ceilings that two directories attach to it; the venue itself says neither, so neither is stated here.

The thing to plan around is the weekend. Hours are 7:30am to 10pm on weekdays and 8am to 1pm on Saturday and Sunday — the only lunchtime weekend close among Miami's twenty-two padel venues, and a genuine problem if your group plays Saturday afternoons. Membership comes in two tiers on a launch offer: $199 a month gets seven-day booking priority, a quarter off the peak court fee and free off-peak play; $399 makes peak free as well. Both include one clinic a week. Programming beyond that clinic is thin — no coach is named anywhere, and the booking system carries no competitions or open play.

One geographical correction worth having if you are searching for it: this is marketed as Doral, but the parcel at 6700 NW 77th Court sits in the Town of Medley, in a 210,975 square foot warehouse built in 1973 on nearly eight acres of industrially zoned land.

Getting there

NW 77th Court in the warehouse belt north-west of Doral, with free and private parking on site. Nothing about this location is walkable — it is an industrial park, and the coworking half of the business assumes you drove and stayed.

Running a session here

AREA CENTRE has 2 courts, and a 90-minute booking is the slot to plan around. That fixes almost everything else about the evening.

  • Bring 8 to 10 players. 8 is everyone on court every round; past that you are running a sit-out queue, which is fine but somebody has to track it.
  • Expect about 6 rounds once you take out warm-up and changeovers — play each to 32 points so every court finishes together and the scores stay comparable.
  • At 10 players, 2 people sit out each round. 2 courts tops out at 10 players before the sit-out queue is longer than the court time.

Formats that fit

  • Americano a full rotation at 8 players is 7 rounds and the booking holds 6, so you play a slice of it. Fine for an evening, but the standings are a snapshot rather than a complete table.
  • Mexicano re-pairs by the standings each round, so the games stay close. 6 rounds is enough for the table to mean something.
  • King of the Court winners move up a court, losers move down. Works from 4 rounds on 2 courts.

If you book fewer courts

Two courts is eight players with everyone on court and ten before somebody is resting every round. This is a venue for one group of eight, not for a club night.

The venue prices court time in ninety-minute slots, which is its own unit. Ninety minutes is six rounds to 32 points once warm-up and changeovers are paid for — and at eight players a full Americano rotation is seven rounds, so you finish one round short. Play to 21 instead and you get ten rounds, which covers the rotation with room over.

Check the day before you invite anyone. A Saturday booking has to start and finish before 1pm.

If your group plays weekly and off-peak, the maths favours membership unusually strongly here: the $199 tier makes non-peak court time free outright rather than discounted.

Common questions

Are the courts air-conditioned?
Yes, on the operator's own claim — it posted in June 2025 that it had finished installing new AC units across its sports and wellness spaces. Only four of Miami's padel venues claim air conditioning in their own words, and this is one of them.
How many courts are there?
Two indoor courts, named Padel 1 and Padel 2 in the venue's own booking system. The second was completed in mid-2025.
What are the weekend hours?
8am to 1pm on Saturday and Sunday — the earliest weekend close of any padel venue in Miami. Weekdays run 7:30am to 10pm.
Is this in Doral?
It markets as Doral, but the parcel is in the Town of Medley, in the warehouse district north-west of Doral proper.
