The full rotation is 9 rounds, and almost nobody plays 9 of them. This is the number worth checking before you book rather than after: at 21 points a round runs about 8 minutes, and the first ten minutes of any slot go on arriving, warming up and picking a first pairing.

Stopping early costs nothing structural. Partners are spread from the first round onward, so 9 rounds of it is a complete Americano with a real winner — just one where some pairings never came up.
Players are numbered 1 to 9. Hand out the numbers however you like — by arrival, by lot, or by putting your strongest players at opposite ends — because Americano scores individuals, so the numbering carries no seeding.
