The full rotation is 7 rounds, and almost nobody plays 7 of them. This is the number worth checking before you book rather than after: at 21 points a round runs about 8 minutes, and the first ten minutes of any slot go on arriving, warming up and picking a first pairing.
| Booking | Rounds it fits | Of the rotation |
|---|---|---|
| 60 min | 6 rounds | 86% |
| 90 min | 7 rounds | All of it |
| 120 min | 7 rounds | All of it |
Stopping early costs nothing structural. Partners are spread from the first round onward, so 7 rounds of it is a complete Americano with a real winner — just one where some pairings never came up.
Players are numbered 1 to 8. Hand out the numbers however you like — by arrival, by lot, or by putting your strongest players at opposite ends — because Americano scores individuals, so the numbering carries no seeding.
| Round | Court 1 | Court 2 |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | 1 & 6 v 7 & 4 | 5 & 3 v 8 & 2 |
| 2 | 5 & 8 v 4 & 3 | 1 & 2 v 6 & 7 |
| 3 | 1 & 3 v 6 & 4 | 8 & 7 v 5 & 2 |
| 4 | 1 & 8 v 7 & 3 | 5 & 6 v 2 & 4 |
| 5 | 4 & 1 v 5 & 7 | 2 & 6 v 8 & 3 |
| 6 | 6 & 8 v 2 & 3 | 5 & 4 v 1 & 7 |
| 7 | 5 & 1 v 3 & 6 | 8 & 4 v 2 & 7 |
8 is a multiple of four, which is exactly the condition for a rotation with no repeated partner: every player is on a court every round.
The scoring is the part a group chat handles worst. How Americano scoring works covers the rules in full, and the court-time maths covers point targets other than 21.
Every roster from 4 to 24 players, each with its own rotation.
