Pura Padel's own address line says what this place is better than any description could: "Westfield Fashion Square – Rooftop Parking, 14006 Riverside Dr". Three courts on the roof of a shopping mall's parking structure in Sherman Oaks, which the club sells as three premium rooftop courts above the valley skyline and calls California's first purpose-built rooftop padel club. Its booking grid names them Court 1, Court 2 and Court 3, each tagged outdoor, doubles and panoramic — a first-hand court census, and it matches the club's own words about open-air play exactly.

The hours are the cleanest in the city, and after five venues' worth of contradictory tables that is worth something. 8am to 11pm, Monday to Sunday, stated in three places on the club's own site and repeated by its booking system, which additionally declares the same hours on holidays. No conflict anywhere. Every other club here has at least one source disagreeing with another about when it opens.

There is no published court rate. What the club publishes instead is a membership built on credit rather than discount, which is unusual and which suits a regular group well. Gold is $125 a month and comes with a $160 monthly credit, 20% off court bookings, 10% off programs, tournaments and clinics, a seven-day priority booking window, up to five bookings a day and ten active at once, guest bookings payable from the same credit and free racket rentals for guests. Player Plus is $225 a month with a $360 credit, 30% off court bookings and a ten-day window, or $2,700 for a year. Both carry the same caveat in the club's own words: the credit cannot be spent on rackets, bags or merchandise, and it expires monthly rather than rolling over.

Program prices are posted and they are the clearest numbers on the site: clinics are $45, covering a skills clinic, a women's clinic and a drills session, and open play is $45 — either a 90-minute Liveball for 2.5 and above, or a Step Up open play for 3.0 and above. Coaching packages reveal what a private hour costs by coach: ten hours with Diego lists at $2,000 and sells at $1,750, so $200 an hour and $175 after the discount; ten with Meriem lists at $1,750 and sells at $1,575; ten with Raul sells at $1,500. Shorter packs and a five-clinic block with Sabaea at $250 sit underneath.

A non-member can book, and the club is explicit about the mechanics. Court time sells directly through Playtomic, membership is presented as a savings product rather than a gate, and one booking rule is worth reading twice: "Reservations include all four players" and "all bookings must include the names of all four players to ensure accurate billing". So this is not a court you book and then fill — the club wants the four names at the point of booking, which for a group still chasing a fourth is a real constraint on how late you can leave it.

The cancellation window contradicts itself and it is worth knowing both figures. The club's own policy page says 12 hours — a credit refund up to 12 hours before, nothing inside that window, and a full refund for rainouts. Both membership tiers on the booking system advertise cancelling up to 24 hours before. The 12-hour rule is the one the club publishes for the public, so plan on that and treat the 24-hour figure as attached to the memberships.

Three courts seat twelve players with nobody sitting out and up to sixteen with a rotation, and on a 90-minute booking that is about six rounds at a points target of 32 — a properly long session, and the same capacity as Padel Up Culver City with three hours more of the day to fit it into.

Amenities are the fullest of the three rooftop clubs in this city: a lounge, a dedicated warm-up area the club also calls training space, a pro shop, equipment rental, a changing room, lockers, Wi-Fi and a snack bar. A club post from 2024 also mentioned a workout and recovery area and a plunge pool; the current website mentions neither, so treat those as a claim from the opening rather than something to turn up expecting. Parking is the mall's rooftop and the club's own policy is first come, first served.

Coaching is named and credentialled. Diego Leal is head coach and chief padel officer, with Raul Guilpen coaching and Sabaea Carrington doubling as youth director; the booking system adds Meriem Romeo and Carlos Almenar teaching live classes. The club describes its coaches as RSPA-certified and runs private lessons, group clinics, a youth program, Liveball, level-banded open play at 2.5 and 3.0, tournaments, mixers, corporate events and brand activations.

Two policies from the club's terms that catch people out. Everyone checks in on arrival and accepts the waiver online before entering. Proper athletic padel attire including shirts is required both on and off the court. And no external vendors, coaches or providers are allowed on the premises without the owners' consent — so if your group has its own coach, that is a conversation to have first.

Founded in 2024 by Alessandro Bennett as co-founder and chief executive, with Loïc Jasmin named alongside him in the club's own launch post, this was the first padel club to open in a shopping mall in Los Angeles. Its history is worth telling straight: it was announced in August 2024 as pop-up courts, and it now describes itself as purpose-built. The reconciliation is Bennett's own — early success led to a long-term extension with Westfield. So it launched as a pop-up and is now on a long lease, which is a better story than either half alone. One thing not to read into it: the club's published phone number carries a Miami area code and the company has spoken about a future Miami flagship. That reflects Bennett's own background, and Pura Padel has no connection to the similarly named Pura Vida chain in Florida.

Getting there

14006 Riverside Drive in Sherman Oaks, and the club's own address includes the qualifier that matters: Westfield Fashion Square, rooftop parking. The courts are on the mall's parking roof, so follow signs up rather than looking for a street frontage.

Parking is on that same roof and it is first come, first served by the club's own policy — no validation scheme, no reserved bays. On a busy mall weekend, arrive with time in hand.

Open 8am to 11pm every day of the week including holidays, which is both the longest and the most reliably stated day of any padel club in Los Angeles.

Running a session here

Pura Padel has 3 courts, and a 90-minute booking is the slot to plan around. That fixes almost everything else about the evening.

  • Bring 12 to 16 players. 12 is everyone on court every round; past that you are running a sit-out queue, which is fine but somebody has to track it.
  • Expect about 6 rounds once you take out warm-up and changeovers — play each to 32 points so every court finishes together and the scores stay comparable.
  • At 16 players, 4 people sit out each round. 3 courts tops out at 16 players before the sit-out queue is longer than the court time.

Formats that fit

  • Americano a full rotation at 12 players is 11 rounds and the booking holds 6, so you play a slice of it. Fine for an evening, but the standings are a snapshot rather than a complete table.
  • Mexicano re-pairs by the standings each round, so the games stay close. 6 rounds is enough for the table to mean something.
  • King of the Court winners move up a court, losers move down. Works from 6 rounds on 3 courts.

If you book fewer courts

Have all four names before you book. The club requires every reservation to include the names of all four players for billing, so this is not a venue where you secure a court on Monday and find a fourth on Thursday.

No court rate is published; it appears in Playtomic at the booking step. If your group plays here often, the credit-based membership is worth the arithmetic — $125 a month returns a $160 balance plus 20% off bookings, and $225 returns $360 plus 30% off. The catch is that credit expires monthly and cannot be spent on equipment.

Plan on the 12-hour cancellation rule, not the 24-hour one. The club's own policy page says 12 hours for a credit refund with nothing inside that; the 24-hour figure appears only against the membership tiers. Rainouts are refunded in full, which on a rooftop matters.

Three courts hold twelve players with nobody resting and up to sixteen with rotation — about six rounds at a points target of 32 on a 90-minute booking. With the city's longest opening hours behind it, this is the easiest venue here to fit a full group into an awkward evening.

If you are bringing your own coach, ask first. The club's terms bar external vendors, coaches and providers from the premises without the owners' consent.

Common questions

How much does it cost to play at Pura Padel?
The club publishes no hourly court rate — the price appears at the booking step in Playtomic. Program prices are posted: clinics $45 and open play $45, whether that is a 90-minute Liveball for 2.5-and-above or a Step Up session for 3.0-and-above. Memberships are $125 a month for a $160 monthly credit and 20% off bookings, or $225 for a $360 credit and 30% off, with an annual option at $2,700.
Can a non-member book a court?
Yes. Court time sells directly through Playtomic and membership is a savings product rather than a gate. One requirement to plan around: the club asks that every reservation include the names of all four players, which it says is for accurate billing.
Are the courts covered?
No. All three are outdoor and uncovered, on the roof of the Westfield Fashion Square parking structure, and the booking grid tags each of them outdoor, doubles and panoramic. The club's own pitch is open-air rooftop play, and no cooling claim exists anywhere.
What is the cancellation window?
Twelve hours by the club's own policy page — a credit refund up to twelve hours before, no refund inside that, and a full refund for rainouts. Both membership tiers on the booking system separately advertise cancelling up to 24 hours before, so the twelve-hour rule is the safe assumption for a public booking.
How many people can play at once?
Three courts seat twelve players with nobody sitting out and up to about sixteen with a rotation. On a 90-minute booking that is roughly six rounds at a points target of 32, and the club's 8am to 11pm day gives more room to place it than anywhere else in the city.
