Padel Up Century City is two courts on the roof of the Westfield Century City mall, and the setting is the whole proposition. The club's own description is a rooftop club with sweeping views of Los Angeles that combines sport, lifestyle and community in an elevated way, pitched as social and dynamic and as the place to learn. Its own private-events page is the only place the company states a court count per site, and it says two pristine padel courts and a cosy lounge. They are open-air MejorSet courts. Nobody claims cover, cooling or anything else, and on a mall roof in Century City nobody should.

Two courts is a small booking and it is worth planning for honestly. Eight players fit with nobody sitting out and up to ten with a rotation, which on an hour's slot gives about six rounds at a points target of 21 — a good evening for eight, and a stretch for a dozen. If your group is bigger, the company's Culver City club has three courts under a roof and four more hours in the day.

There is no published court rate here, and the same membership applies as at the sister club: $220 a month for an individual, $165 for a spouse or partner and $100 for a child under 18, with two hour-long court credits a month, half off your own share of bookings, 10% off clinics and open plays, a ten-day priority window, free racket rentals and 30 days' notice to cancel. Racket rental otherwise is $10 an hour and balls are $6. Ignore PadelCourtsFinder's $30 to $60 a court an hour and its claim about a turf surface — both are directory inventions with nothing behind them.

Anyone can book. The club's FAQ is unambiguous — "we operate a pay-and-play model which allows anyone to come and play", with court reservations, programming and one-to-one sessions all available to non-members — and an account and a signed waiver are all that is required. One directory badges this venue as membership-required, which flatly contradicts the club's own words and should be discarded.

The amenity list is the shortest of any club in this city and the club is admirably direct about why. There are no locker rooms, no showers, no sauna and no cold plunge here: its own FAQ marks each of those "Culver City (only)" and members-only on top. What is here is a lounge with bar seating, a pro shop, snacks and hydration, and Wi-Fi the club actively invites you to use — "many of our members use our lounge areas as co-working space during our off-peak hours". Service dogs are welcome. Arrive planning to change and shower and you will be disappointed; arrive planning to play and stay for a drink and it works exactly as intended.

Parking is the landlord's rather than the club's, and the club gives real instructions for it: the Westfield has plenty of paid parking, and it recommends parking near Gelson's for validation with a $10 purchase, or Level 2 of the AMC theatre. Catering for private events comes from mall tenants — the club names Eataly among them — which is the other side of being a tenant on somebody's roof.

The program is the company's rather than the site's, and it is genuinely deep. Five coaches are named: Marisha Darzyan as head of community and a padel professional, Abraham Alvarez as head padel professional, and Gio Carrillo, Edwin Echavarria and Rafael Navas. Clinics run as Step In, Step Up, Step Forward and Step Beyond, plus a drill-and-open-play variant and a 30-minute all-levels assessment class, with open play banded three ways. Community formats include a weekly Thursday Link Up, GameMatch for opening a booking to ranking-balanced players, Americano and Champion of the Court, all rated on NPRP. Private events are pitched at this club in particular. The tournament calendar is dated and real: US Padel Association 100, 250 and 500 events through 2025 and 2026, a Clash of Clubs at the end of August 2026, an LA Inter Club Cup and a PTP Cup.

Cancellation runs 24 hours for the public, 8 hours for active members and 6 hours on GameMatch, with nothing refundable or reschedulable inside the window and full refunds when the club cancels for weather or maintenance. On an open-air rooftop that last clause is not decoration. At least one player must arrive within 10 minutes or the court may be released. Under-18s need a parent or guardian to sign the waiver every visit.

A word on its history, because it is unusual and the club has grown out of it. Century City opened in August 2024 as an explicitly limited run — local coverage announced it as a season from 24 August to 1 October. It is still trading two years later with memberships, five coaches and a tournament calendar, so it is no longer a pop-up; but it is still a tenancy on a mall roof, and that is the structural fact behind everything above. It opened in the same week as Pura Padel, on another Westfield rooftop across the hills, which is how this city acquired two mall-roof padel clubs at once.

Getting there

10250 Santa Monica Boulevard — but the street address alone will not find it. The club's own directions put it on the rooftop level of the Westfield Century City mall, between Nordstrom and the AMC theatres, with entrance doors in the corner between Guess and Nordstrom, and its homepage names the spot precisely: The Skydeck, Level 03, above Vans and Guess.

Parking is the mall's and it is paid. The club recommends parking close to Gelson's, where a $10 purchase gets you validation, or Level 2 of the AMC theatre. Budget the walk up from either.

Open 8am to 10pm daily. The club's earlier coverage and a couple of directories say 7am, but its current page says 8am in two places, so that is what a booking should assume.

Running a session here

Padel Up Century City has 2 courts, and a 60-minute booking is the slot to plan around. That fixes almost everything else about the evening.

  • Bring 8 to 10 players. 8 is everyone on court every round; past that you are running a sit-out queue, which is fine but somebody has to track it.
  • Expect about 6 rounds once you take out warm-up and changeovers — play each to 21 points so every court finishes together and the scores stay comparable.
  • At 10 players, 2 people sit out each round. 2 courts tops out at 10 players before the sit-out queue is longer than the court time.

Formats that fit

  • Americano a full rotation at 8 players is 7 rounds and the booking holds 6, so you play a slice of it. Fine for an evening, but the standings are a snapshot rather than a complete table.
  • Mexicano re-pairs by the standings each round, so the games stay close. 6 rounds is enough for the table to mean something.
  • King of the Court winners move up a court, losers move down. Works from 4 rounds on 2 courts.

If you book fewer courts

Two courts means eight players with nobody sitting out and ten with a rotation — about six rounds at a points target of 21 in an hour. For anything larger, the same company's Culver City club has three indoor courts and stays open until 11pm.

No court rate is published; it appears at the booking step. The company's own "$280 value" for two monthly hour-long credits implies $140 an hour, which lines up with the one published rate in this city — useful context rather than a quote.

Tell your group there are no showers or lockers here. The club marks the locker rooms, showers, sauna and plunge as Culver City only and members only, so this is a turn-up-and-play venue rather than an after-work-then-shower one.

Add ten minutes for the parking lot. It is a shopping mall's, it is paid, and the club will release a court if nobody has arrived within ten minutes of the start — validation at Gelson's needs a $10 purchase, so plan that in rather than discovering it at the barrier.

These courts are open to the sky on a rooftop. The club refunds in full when it cancels for weather, which is the right policy and also a hint: for a fixture your group cannot move, the indoor sister club is the safer booking.

Common questions

Where exactly is Padel Up Century City?
On the roof of the Westfield Century City mall at 10250 Santa Monica Blvd — specifically The Skydeck, Level 03, above Vans and Guess, between Nordstrom and the AMC theatres, with the entrance doors in the corner between Guess and Nordstrom. Those are the club's own directions, and the street address alone will not find the courts.
Do I need a membership to play?
No. The club's own FAQ says it runs a pay-and-play model that allows anyone to come and play, with court reservations, programming and one-to-one coaching open to non-members. An account and a signed waiver are needed; membership is not. A directory listing this venue as membership-required is wrong.
Are there showers or a locker room?
No. The club's own FAQ marks the locker rooms, showers, sauna and cold plunge as being at its Culver City club only, and members-only there. Here you get a lounge with bar seating, a pro shop, snacks, Wi-Fi and a rooftop view.
How many courts are there and are they covered?
Two, and they are open-air on the mall's rooftop Skydeck — MejorSet courts with no cover, no cooling and no claim of either. Two courts seat eight players with nobody sitting out and up to ten with a rotation.
How is this different from Padel Up Culver City?
Same company and the same membership, coaching bench, clinic ladder and policies — but two genuinely different venues. Century City has two outdoor rooftop courts, an 8am to 10pm day, mall paid parking and no locker room. Culver City has three indoor courts under a 30-foot ceiling, 7am to 11pm, free parking at the door, and a members-only wellness suite with showers, sauna and cold plunge.
