Racket Social Club is a four-city brand — Alpharetta, Denver, Willowbrook and here — and its mission statement is the chain's best writing: "build a place where people love to play and love to stay. We're not just lining up courts, we're creating a community... Think of us as your third place. Not home, not work, but the spot where friendships grow, rallies never end, and the passion for racquet sports comes alive." The Katy site's own line is more concrete: "Play indoor padel year-round at Houston's most premium racket club... world-class, climate-controlled indoor padel courts to the Katy and Richmond area."

This is one of four venues in the metro that claims active cooling in its own words, and it makes the claim repeatedly — "a comfortable, climate-controlled environment designed for consistent performance in Houston". The physical specification behind it is real: five indoor courts, tagged crystal and double on the club's own booking system, in an 18,000 square foot hall engineered from the ground up for padel, under 30-foot ceilings that the chain's chief executive calls the tallest of any padel club in greater Houston. The club is an official Adidas Padel partner.

Read the brand's two Houston sites as different products, because the club's own homepage makes that hard. The tile headed "Willowbrook, TX" describes "Five indoor padel courts, 30-foot ceilings, lounge, locker rooms, snack bar, and pro shop" — which is this site's specification printed under the other one's name. Willowbrook is four uncovered outdoor courts. In July the two are not comparable, and the location pages, not the homepage, are the ones to trust.

No court rate is published, and that is a real gap rather than an oversight: the chain publishes a rates page for its Denver site and none for either Houston site, and both Houston membership pages are empty stubs with no prices or tiers on them. What membership buys is stated — discounted court fees, free racket rentals, priority registration for leagues, events and clinics, and member-only promotions — and the access policy is unambiguous in the shared FAQ: "Do I need a membership to play? — No. Courts can be booked without a membership." The only published dollar figure for this site is coaching: Sebastian Santibañez runs 60-minute clinics at $30 a person capped at four players, including a women's intermediate clinic, a women's high-beginner clinic and an introduction to padel.

The booking route needs care, because the club's own FAQ gives two answers. The how-to-book answer says Playtomic and requires every player to have a Playtomic profile before going on court; the cancellation and payment answers both name PlayByPoint, and both of those answers are additionally tagged "coming soon". The live Playtomic tenant for this site exists and works. Amenities are well described in the club's own words: an upscale snack bar with "a curated selection of refreshing, nutritious beverages and snacks", a stretch-out area "equipped with modern fitness technology", a pro shop stocked by Racket Central, and changing rooms the club calls "private, serene spaces with a spa-like shower". The site opened with a grand-opening padel festival on 28 March and shows 4.9 from 39 Google reviews on its own page.

Getting there

21676 FM 1093 — and the club's own page gives the municipality as Richmond, TX 77407, not Katy. "Katy" is the site's brand name rather than where it is.

West of Houston on the FM 1093 corridor, with free parking on site. Allow for the difference: Richmond is a longer drive from central Houston than Katy.

Five courts takes twenty players with everyone on court each round and twenty-six as the ceiling, at which six rest at a time. No booking length is published; on a 90-minute slot that is six rounds to 32 points or ten to 21.

At twenty players an Americano needs nineteen rounds and will not fit any single booking. A Mexicano clears its six-round minimum comfortably, or split into two pools on two and three courts.

This is the metro's most weather-proof large session: five cooled courts under 30-foot ceilings means a July afternoon plays exactly like a February one. If your group has been rained or baked off an outdoor booking before, this is the answer.

No court rate is published, so a group cannot budget in advance — the price appears at the booking step. The $30 clinic is a clinic price, not court hire, and should not be read as one.

Common questions

Are the courts climate-controlled?
Yes. The club claims it repeatedly in its own words, and describes five indoor courts under 30-foot ceilings in an 18,000 sq ft hall built specifically for padel.
Do I need a membership?
No. The chain's own FAQ says courts can be booked without one; membership adds discounted fees, free racket rentals and priority registration for leagues and clinics.
What does a court cost?
No court rate is published for either Houston site, and the membership page is an empty stub. The only published figure is coaching: $30 a person for a 60-minute clinic capped at four players.
How does this differ from Racket Social Club Willowbrook?
Entirely. Katy is five climate-controlled indoor courts; Willowbrook is four uncovered outdoor courts plus pickleball. The club's own homepage confuses the two by printing Katy's specification under Willowbrook's heading.
