Memorial is the small half of Padel Country Club and the comfortable one. The club's own description is unambiguous about the positioning: "Step into our premium indoor facility at Memorial. A true VIP environment with pro-level vibes, perfect for players who enjoy padel in style and comfort." Its court line is the useful sentence: "Play all year round on 2 professional-grade indoor courts with perfect air conditioning and red carpet flooring for a high-end experience." Its booking-system blurb says it again — "Two fully climate-controlled indoor courts with air conditioning and heating. Full bar, pro-shop, VIP experience."
That is the club making the cooling claim twice in its own words, which puts Memorial in a four-venue minority across the metro. The booking system's court metadata backs the rest: two courts, both indoor, both double, both panoramic. "Red carpet flooring" is the club's own phrase for the surround. Heating is claimed alongside cooling, which matters less often in Houston but covers the handful of genuinely cold January mornings.
It is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and this is the one operational fact in the whole chain where the club's own site and its booking system agree without contradiction. On two air-conditioned courts, that combination — any hour, cooled — is the most weather-proof padel in Houston.
As at Katy, no court rate is published. The membership is shared across both sites at $80 a month with no initiation fee, giving 30% off peak reservations, 50% off-peak and 70% between noon and 3pm off a base rate the club never states, plus a 12-day booking window and free racket rentals. The booking system additionally sells Silver at $80 and Gold at $99, the latter including gym access and cancellation to 12 hours — worth noting here, because Memorial has no gym listed at all despite the membership advertising a gym discount at both locations.
What Memorial does not have is the reason to choose Katy. There is a premium lounge and bar serving beer, wine and soft drinks, a padel gear shop with rackets, balls and apparel, changing rooms, lockers and free parking. There is no kids room, no football pitch, no play park, no coworking floor and no karate academy. Two courts, cooled, at any hour, with a bar — that is the whole proposition, and it is a clear one. Ratings are thin and contradictory across directories, on review bases small enough that neither figure means much.
Getting there
1530 W Sam Houston Parkway N, Suite 116, on the Beltway 8 frontage north of the Katy Freeway. Free parking on site.
The booking system renders postcode 77083 while the street address is 77043. Trust the street address.
Two courts is an eight-player session, ten at a stretch with two resting each round. The club publishes no booking length; on a 90-minute slot that is six rounds to 32 points or ten to 21, and an eight-player Americano needs seven rounds, so it completes at 21 or 24 but not at 32.
Eight players and two courts is the size this venue is built for, and the 24-hour opening is what makes it unusual: a group that can only meet at 6am or 11pm has somewhere to play, on cooled courts, which no other Houston venue offers in that combination.
The 70% lunchtime discount is the standout on the shared membership, and here it is genuinely usable — indoors and air-conditioned, noon to 3pm is as comfortable as any other slot, which is not true at the Katy site or at any of the metro's outdoor clubs.
For anything larger than ten players this is the wrong site of the two. Katy has five courts and takes twenty; Memorial's two cap the session before a Mexicano leaderboard gets interesting.
Common questions
- Are the Memorial courts air-conditioned?
- Yes. The club claims it twice in its own words — "perfect air conditioning" on its site and "fully climate-controlled indoor courts with air conditioning and heating" on its booking listing. Both courts are indoor and panoramic.
- When is it open?
- Twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. The club's own site and its booking system agree, which is the only operational fact in the chain where they do.
- What does it cost?
- No court rate is published. The $80 monthly membership covers both Houston sites and gives 30% off peak, 50% off-peak and 70% between noon and 3pm off a base rate the club does not state.
- How does Memorial differ from the Katy site?
- Memorial is two cooled indoor courts open around the clock, with a lounge and bar. Katy has five courts of mixed cover, football pitches, a kids room and a play park. The membership covers both.
