Padel39 opened here in October 2024, before it had anywhere else, and its own page calls this club "The OG". Six outdoor lit courts on Rutland Drive in North Austin, all of them doubles, confirmed as Court 1 through 6 on its booking system. The brand's registered address is still this one, which tells you something about where the company thinks it comes from.

The clubhouse is what makes this a different venue from its twelve-court sibling across town rather than a smaller copy of it. In the club's own words: "The 10,000 sq ft Clubhouse has wellness facilities (cold plunge and sauna), a recovery area, a pro shop, a CLUB39 bar, co-working facilities, and a conference room. Additionally, we have a beautiful terrace area, and outdoor fitness equipment." Co-working desks and a bookable conference room are unusual attached to padel courts, and they are aimed squarely at the people who work in the office parks around The Domain. A midday match followed by two hours at a desk is a shape this club supports and East Austin does not.

Location is the rest of the pitch and the club devotes two full sections of its own page to it. It sits next to The Domain — Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Tiffany & Co., Austin's only Neiman Marcus, more than a hundred shops and restaurants, hotels and hundreds of apartments in a park-like setting — and behind Q2 Stadium, home of Austin FC. For a group where half the players work in North Austin, that combination is the whole argument: courts, dinner and a match at the stadium within a few hundred meters.

The court count is going to change and this page does not pretend otherwise. The club's own facilities paragraph ends: "We have acquired the lease for the space next door and have just started construction on three additional covered outdoor lighted padel courts." Nine courts is where this is heading; six is what you can book, and the three under construction are covered rather than cooled. The existing six are outdoor, lit and uncovered, which on a Texas afternoon puts the value in the 7am open and the 10:30pm close.

Rates come from the brand rather than the club, which is worth saying plainly because the club's own page insists each Padel39 is unique. A non-member pays $30 to $35 per player for a 90-minute session, peak or off-peak, with peak covering weekday mornings and evenings and all of the weekend. Private lessons are $100 to $120, clinics $40, events $35, tournaments $10 to $100, racket rental $10 to $20. Free intros run weekly and the coached Player's Pass is $39. The three membership tiers — Signature, Elite and Elite Multi-Club — publish their benefits in detail and their price nowhere; Elite Multi-Club is the one that carries across to East Austin and North Dallas, which is the tier this club's regulars would actually want.

The hours differ from East Austin's by half an hour at the close, every night. It sounds trivial and it is the kind of thing that ends a session early if you assumed the two clubs were the same, so it is on the page: 10:30pm here, 11pm there.

Getting there

2510 Rutland Drive, 78758, in North Austin — next to The Domain and behind Q2 Stadium, with the club's own parking on site.

This is the northern half of Austin's padel supply; Padel Club Austin and Padel39's East Austin club are both a good 20 to 30 minutes south of here in traffic.

Running a session here

Padel39 North Austin has 6 courts, and a 90-minute booking is the slot to plan around. That fixes almost everything else about the evening.

  • Bring 24 to 32 players. 24 is everyone on court every round; past that you are running a sit-out queue, which is fine but somebody has to track it.
  • Expect about 6 rounds once you take out warm-up and changeovers — play each to 32 points so every court finishes together and the scores stay comparable.
  • At 32 players, 8 people sit out each round. 6 courts tops out at 32 players before the sit-out queue is longer than the court time.

Formats that fit

  • Americano a full rotation at 24 players is 23 rounds and the booking holds 6, so you play a slice of it. Fine for an evening, but the standings are a snapshot rather than a complete table.
  • Mexicano re-pairs by the standings each round, so the games stay close. 6 rounds is enough for the table to mean something.
  • King of the Court needs about 12 rounds to climb 6 courts, and the booking gives 6.

If you book fewer courts

Six courts seat 24 players a round, and 32 is the ceiling at which eight people rest each round. That is the sweet spot for a large social without the logistics of a twelve-court booking.

Ninety minutes leaves eighty of play — six rounds to 32 points, or ten to 21. A full Americano at 24 players wants 23 rounds, so play a slice of one or run a Mexicano, which needs six rounds before its standings say anything.

For 16 players, book four of the six courts: everyone is on court every round and you pay for less of the club. The $30–$35 rate is per player either way, so the courts you do not book cost you nothing.

The co-working room and conference room make the weekday off-peak window — 10:30am to 4:30pm — genuinely usable for a work group, which is the one context where the hottest part of an Austin day is worth booking. Play, then work in the air conditioning rather than the other way around.

Three more covered courts are under construction next door. If you are planning something for later in the year that needs nine, ask the club where that has got to rather than counting on it.

Common questions

How many courts does Padel39 North Austin have?
Six outdoor lit doubles courts, listed as Court 1 to 6 on its booking system. Three more covered outdoor courts are under construction on the space next door, which the club says it has just started.
What is in the clubhouse?
10,000 sq ft holding a cold plunge and sauna, a recovery area, a pro shop, the CLUB39 bar, co-working facilities and a conference room, plus a terrace and outdoor fitness equipment. The co-working space and conference room are what distinguish this club from Padel39's East Austin site.
Is it the same price as Padel39 East Austin?

How late is it open?
10:30pm every night, opening at 7am on weekdays and 7:30am at weekends. That is half an hour earlier than the brand's East Austin club, which closes at 11pm.
